Phase 3 Tower Construction Overview This week concrete work on the tower will progress to the fifth and sixth floors. This will include concrete pours for floor slabs and vertical columns. It is expected that all concrete work will be completed within normal weekday construction hours, that is between 7 am and 7 pm. There remains some minor clean up work to do in the 29 Queens Quay garage on the P1 level. This work is scheduled to be completed by the end of next week, May 11. If there is any change to this schedule we will post it here. This week work on the Phase 3 tower is focussed in three main areas: Work is continuing to remove the concrete slab in the 29 Queens Quay roundabout lane, adjacent to the southeast corner of the podium. Crews will be pouring concrete on floors four and five of the Phase 3 podium. Flying formwork tables to the fourth and fifth floors. These are the wooden structures used to provide forms into which concrete is poured.
UPDATE – April 24, 2018 Work in the 29 Queens Quay garage will be completed today, April 24, or at the latest tomorrow, April 25. Every effort is being made to ensure the safe and quick and completion of clean-up efforts. Work at 29 Queens Quay This week subcontractors Mayfair will be working on P1 level of the 29 Queens Quay parking garage on Monday and Tuesday. This work will include the clean-up of parking spots. Construction site conditions and weather conditions have caused scheduled work on the concrete slab that is part of the 29 Queens Quay laneway roundabout. This section that has been fenced off to permit construction of the podium of the Phase 3 Tower, is scheduled to be removed and rebuilt. Our latest information is that this will begin Wednesday, April 17. We will provide an update on specific scheduling as soon as the information is available.
29 Queens Quay garage work Mayfair Electric will be commencing work this week, April 16th – 20th , in the P1 garage at the North East corner, adjacent the area pictured on the right. 29 Queens Quay Garage Beginning Thursday, April 12, cleaning and painting columns on the P3 and P4 parking levels will get underway. Parking spots 1 – 12 on Ps and P4 will be need to be cleared of cars for the duration of the work, which is expected to take up to 3 days. 29 Queens Quay Parking Garage. Work continues again this week in the mechanical room of the 29 Queens Quay parking garage. It is expected that this work, will continue through Thursday, April 5. Two supporting columns in the mechanical room are being reinforced to strengthen them, as they are under what will be the southern portion of the podium of the new Phase 3 Tower. UPDATED: Please note that residents of 29 Queens Quay using P2 level parking spots 1 through 8, and 21, 22 and 23, have been asked to move their cars to permit some necessary overhead work to be done tomorrow, Tuesday, April 3.
